The Egyptian NGO Support Center is holding a Grant Award Ceremony through the South Sinai Stakeholder Capacity buildin g project, where 20 Grants (each is worth around 25,000 to 30,000L.E) will be awarded to the qualified NGOs that are operating in South Sinai cities. The Ceremony will take place on the 16th of August at 11am in Sharm El SHeikh. These selected NGOs have been trained  among other NGOs in South Sinai on how to manage a project from a managerial and financial perspective. They have received training through out the previous year on strategical thinking, proposal writing, financial management, NGO assessment, and how to develop how to manual and policy procedures…etc.

Thus, The objective of these grants is to encourage the selected NGOs to apply the institutional capacities they have gained to manage projects that would have a social and developmental impact on its surrounding  areas all over South Sinai.

The South Sinai Stakeholders Capacity building Team’s project had selected those NGOs based on the following Criteria:

*       The NGO is an Egyptian organization, registered in the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

*       The NGO owns a proposal for an activity/project that would run between three months to one year, where these suggested activities or projects will be tackling developmental issues that would have an impact in enhancing the living standards for the South Sinai residents.

*       The NGO is committed to hold a feasibility study to assess the social, economical, and environmental and health needs of its surrounding area within the 8 cities of South Sinai. The NGO should also support these activities with the appropriate publications ( E-newsletter, brochure, how to manuals) to document all activities held and the success stories attained along with holding conferences, seminars aiming to enhance and raise the public awareness toward the most important social issues for further sustainable development.
